Miguel Malagon-Cordero
Originally from the Dominican Republic, Miguel began his dancing journey in San Diego, CA, where he developed a passion for dance. He has a strong appetite for learning, is deeply interested in music, and is captivated by the art of embodying music through dance. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a Navy veteran, Miguel applies discipline, integrity, and dedication to all his pursuits. These qualities have shaped his real estate career and, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, also led to the establishment of MamboYá Dance Company in Orlando, FL, alongside Aminat Escoto-Lawal.
Aminat Escoto-Lawal
Aminat Escoto-Lawal is of Nigerian descent. Her love for Salsa was born once she heard her mother’s music represented in Salsa. Her dancing journey started in 2009 when she was actively serving in the United States Army in Germany. Working as a Nurse, Salsa dancing was her weekly getaway from reality. After years of dancing socially, she took up taking classes locally and at Salsa Congresses. This helped drive her motivation in creating MamboYá with Miguel Malagon-Cordero.
